Out and about with kids in Kronberg? A great idea. The castle is always especially worthwhile with children; here you can explore knights' armour, helmets, and the chambers. And you get magnificent views of the old town with its winding alleys and the Frankfurt skyline too!
The children's playground at Victoria Park, next to the park itself, is a popular starting point for families to let off steam, not to mention the other great children's playgrounds in the districts of Schönberg and Oberhöchstadt.
Next stop on the wild adventure trail: Opel Zoo. Besides the only elephants in Hesse, there are many other animals to be explored here, and there's also a Hessian farm with petting animals and, of course, a large children's playground.
In the heat of the summer, Kronberg's outdoor swimming pool in a woodland setting, with a fantastic panoramic view far into the Rhine-Main region is a tempting option- above all with plenty of shade, a large car park, and good accessibility by public transport.
If it's colour you're after, then the Kronberg Painters' Colony Museum is the place to be. Centrally located in Kronberg town centre, the art school offers courses and workshops especially for children. When the weather is nice, the little artists like to go outdoors - just like the painters of the former artists' colony.
In summer, the fruit tree nature trail bordered by orchards is always worth a detour with children. Here they can experience nature and the sweet fruits up close.
Sporty kids, on the other hand, are attracted to the Bike Dirtpark in Oberhöchstadt. An absolute must for both big and small bike fans, because here you can learn spectacular biking skills but also try out off-road riding for the first time – of course always with a helmet!
And even when shopping with the family, the kids don't miss out in Kronberg - the stores Marshmellow Kids, Hip Hop, Pfiffikus or Das Schaukelpferd guarantee real excitement with their great selection of fashion and toys.
