BREAKFAST ANYONE?
Sylvie's Café is a laid-back place to start the day. Homemade cakes, a vitamin-rich breakfast and a range of coffee creations set you up perfectly to meet whatever a day in Kronberg throws at you. In summer, suntraps invite you right into the old town of Kronberg, with its many interesting stores and also the Kronberg cinema; Kronberg Castle isn't far away either.

A GOOD DOSE OF FRESH AIR AT OPEL ZOO
If you want to experience animals, Opel Zoo in Kronberg is the place to be. It’s home to around 1600 animals with more than 220 species, mainly from Africa, Asia and Europe. These include the only elephants in Hesse, giraffes, zebras, meerkats, red pandas, cheetahs, kangaroos and many more.
The zoo's founder Dr. h.c. Georg von Opel aimed to present the animals in social groups in near-natural compounds and, as far as possible, without visible boundaries between humans and animals. Circular paths and nature trails in the 27-hectare zoo grounds provide unobstructed views of the diversely designed enclosures that are otherwise only possible in the wild. Dogs are allowed on a leash.
Another attraction is the spacious enclosure for spectacled penguins, where zoo visitors can peer through 8-cm thick windows to watch the birds swimming and diving.
Other highlights include: a petting zoo, educational activities, adventure playgrounds, pony and camel rides.
Barbecue huts and sites can be reserved free of charge. The zoo store offers many souvenirs and books, and the restaurants Sambesi and Lodge round off the culinary offering at Opel Zoo.

A BREATHTAKING VIEW
High above the Opel Zoo, the Kronberger Malerblick is a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the fascinating distant view across Kronberg Castle to the Frankfurt skyline. Early in the morning, the regional photographer scene meets here to capture the extremely impressive sunrise over the skyline. It's not unusual to meet professional or amateur painters and strike up a conversation with them.

LUNCHTIME IN KRONBERG
Kronberg is always the real deal, whether you feel like a quick bite or something more substantial! At lunchtime, numerous restaurants offer a varied and seasonal lunchtime menu with which to start the afternoon with renewed energy. How about a few tips from us?
Kronberg towncentre: Zum Schützenhof restaurant, Pizzeria Toscana, Mangia Mangia, Brunch & Bar, Zum Neuen Bau - Le's cuisine, Bistro Café Merci, Sylvie's Café, Gasthaus Adler (which, by the way, is run by ex-Eintracht Frankfurt star Martin Hinteregger!). Beautifully located in the Victoriapark and overlooking the tennis court of the TEVC is the restaurant "Zeus hat Durst".
Schönberg district: Magnolia Restaurant in the Taunushalle.
Oberhöchstadt district: Haus Altkönig and Darsch Tandori. An insider tip is the Klein butcher's shop in the Oberhöchstadt district, serving fresh over-the-counter food to delight your palate.
Always worth a visit: Sultan's Garten in Kronberg with daily fresh fruit and vegetables and a seasonal soup. For delicatessen lovers, we recommend a detour to Deli Casa in Oberhöchstadt and Klinger Delikatessen in Kronberg's old town.
Would you like an ice cream? Then head for Modi Modi in the old town, Lolli Eis at Berliner Platz or the Eiscafé San Marco Oberhöchstadt.
You can find the perfect souvenir of your visit to Kronberg at "Zeit & Genuss" in Katharinenstraße, among other places.

BROWSING THE SHOPS
At the Kronberger Bücherstube you can find not only good books but also rare wines and elegant brandies and liqueurs. It’s also worth visiting all the other shops in the old town, on Berliner Platz and in the other districts. Oberhöchstadt in particular – popularly known as "Ohö" – boasts a loyal regular clientele thanks to its many shops and places to stop for refreshments around the ‘Dalles’.
The following Kronberg shops are especially for children: Marshmallow Kids, Das Schaukelpferd and Hip Hop Kronberg. Here you can find everything from clothing to unusual toys for the little ones. Speaking of retail: the majority of Kronberg's shops are owner-operated and therefore have very individual ranges of products.
